GNOSTICISM
THE ABRAHAMIC "GOD" IS NOT THE TRUE GOD

STOP !!!
This article is only for the eyes of wise, and open-minded individuals who currently believe in the existence of the Abrahamic God of the Bible.
If you are a narrow-minded, small-hearted person who feels at ease with blind faith .... PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER !!!
If you are ready to take the bitter pill of the HARD TRUTH, please continue reading.
Note : This article is NOT intended to create religious disharmony. Please do your own research.

The idea of the Abrahamic God as the perfect, omnipresent, omnipotent & omniscient Supreme Being that represented law & order, morality & justice has always been one of the central teachings of Judaism & Christianity.

The Abrahamic God is called YaHWeH in Hebrew or Jehovah in Latin, with titles such as Adonai (meaning "Lord") or HaShem (meaning "The Name").
Now, with wisdom, let us see for ourselves whether it is true ... It is interesting that Christianity claims to be the largest religion in the world when it is so fragmented while all claim to be anointed with the Holy Spirit. The various sects each have their own distinctive beliefs and are often in disagreement with one another.

ON THE 'GOD' CONCEPT

GOD - THE ALPHA & OMEGA
While the Abrahamic God prides Himself as the Alpha & Omega as He claims to be the first (and last) in the universe, this is nothing new.
Many other gods of other religions claim to have existed at the beginning of time. And as a religion, Christianity is a very young religion.
Even Judaism is relatively young when compared to Sumerian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek and religions.

The Trinity, which was NEVER mentioned before in the Old Testament, be it by God or His prophets, was common in pagan religions.
The crucifix/cross, the symbol of Christianity, is a common symbol in other religions.
Again, adopted from the pagan religions that God detested so much in the Old Testament.

So what makes the God of Israel more credible (and real) compared to the other religions?
Also, which person, with wisdom and common sense, would use a torture device to represent what they stand for?
Did Jesus even mention that the crucifix is to be used as the symbol for his teachings?

THE IDEA OF SIN
Sin, in biblical context, need not necessarily be an immoral deed. Any disobedience to God is considered a sin.
So, is a sinful man an evil man ? Not necessarily so ....
Where did the idea of 'original sin' come from ? It is basically a mental-shackle used to bind you to the religion using the concept of gratitude and guilt.
(Deuteronomy 24:16, Chronicles II 25:4,, Jeremiah 31:29-30, Ezekiel 18:20-22)
Without the concept of 'original sin', salvation would be worthless and unnecessary.
Even so, God Himself has admitted that He is an angry (one of the seven deadly sins) God, a jealous (another of the seven deadly sins) God.
And with the heinous crimes mentioned above under the header [God is Love?] that are atrocious even to humans, do you still think that God is righteous?
THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN
Why does God need offerings & sacrifices, when everything is created by him and thus belonged to him?
If God is love, why must God "sacrifice" his son so that he can forgive all mankind? Why can't he JUST FORGIVE?
Would a human father need to kill his eldest son so that he can forgive the mistakes made by his youngest son?

CREATION OF HUMANS
Interestingly, according to the Bible, God created the universe just by the Word of God.
If that is true, why would God need to make Adam out of dirt, and Eve from part of Adam?
Why couldn't God just will them into existence?

GOD'S WILL?
Jews, Christians and Muslims are brainwashed into thinking that everything that happens is part of God's plan.
When something good happens, they will credit God for His blessings.

When something bad happens, they will claim that it is a test from God, or that God has better plans for you.
In such a way, it is a 'fail-proof logic' to associate everything with God.

In that case, everything that happens, believers should wholeheartedly accept it with joy. Even if they become critically sick, disabled or paralysed, crippled or disfigured, or the loved ones dead since they are now "home with The Lord".
If such is the case, then whatever you do is part of God's plan, since He already knew what would happen and everything is under His control.
From Man's point of view, such a teaching is a cowardly and irresponsible act of shedding accountability as everything is part of God's plan.
From the spiritual point of view, it means that any sin that any human commit is not our choice, but it is done according to God's script.
In other words, humans are just puppets being played by the puppet master, actors acting according to the script-writer.

FREE-WILL??
If God has given you a 'will' to choose. But that is not free will. If it was free will, you would be allowed to worship whichever god you prefer,
do what you like (as long as it is ethical and socially responsible), eat what you like, and yet, not get penalised for it.
By subjugating yourselves to be 'under God' is basically an admission into slavery.
If God claims to know the past, present and future, basically he is admitting that everything that everything is under his control, and all things – both good and evil – are His doing.

Therefore, how can he penalise His creations who are just doing His will? And if there is free will, how is it that everything is God's plan?

THE ONE & ONLY GOD?
If the Abrahamic God is the God of the Universe, why would there be a commandment of “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
Doesn't it contradict His claim to be the only God in the universe?

Who is this God jealous of? That would mean that there are other celestial beings outside His control, probably just as strong or even superior.
Why would the most powerful being in the universe be jealous of an inferior being?
THE PERFECT GOD?
As the perfect Creator, the products that God has created are all prone to destruction & decay.
How can a perfect factory, with perfect equipment and perfect machinery, using perfect material, produced highly flawed products?
(God probably forgot to create a team of Quality Control angels ...)
In the Bible, God is said to be a short-tempered and often throws tantrums. He admitted that he is a vengeful and jealous God
He is willing to make humans drop dead, turn into a pillar of salt, command bears to eat children, or simply massacre entire civilizations at his whim.
Hoever, when his "chosen people" sin against him again and again, he is able to let go of the matter with a slap on the wrist.
Now, are these characteristics of a perfect being?

THE OMNIPRESENT GOD?
If the God of Israel is the God of the Universe, and the One God of the world, why did he appear only to the people of Israel,
but not to the people in other countries as well ?
The Jews/Catholics/Christians are based in Jerusalem(Israel), the Muslims are based in Jerusalem & Mecca.
God does not appear or speak to people of other races. Have you noticed that God is only known to people around that region?

If he is really the God of the world, why did he not appear to the people in the other parts of the world?

THE OMNISCIENT AND OMNIPOTENT GOD?
Why did God test Adam & Eve when, being omniscient, he already knew the result?
If the serpent was to act as a tool for the test, why did God curse the serpent as well?
It is like the principal punishing the teacher when the kindergarten student fails the university test.
Why didn't God just let Adam & Eve die without descendants, then restart Eden all over again?
Why cause pain & suffering for so many generations to come ?
God knew that Adam & Eve would disobey him, and he purposely planted the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil for them.
Humans did not fall from grace .... they were pushed to their death by God.
The same question for God's motives to test Abraham & Isaac. Why bother to test them when he already knew the results ?!
Let's not talk about the humans who are 'inferior' beings. Take the angels for example.
The angels, unlike humans, are spirit beings, direct creations of God. They are well aware of God's power, capabilities & personality.
So, why did 1/3 of the angels rebel against him? They should be well aware that it's suicide to oppose the omnipotent Supreme Being!
Why did God send the other 2/3 of the angels to fight the rebels? Why didn't he simply use his power to make the rebels disappear?
If God is so perfect, why did the angels rebel in the first place?
If God is omniscient, he would have known this would happen. So, why did he allow the rebellion to take place ?
Why did he create the rebellious angels in the first place??
Assuming that God knew everything, and had the power to change anything if He wanted, it means that everything that happened was God's will.
That means, all those years of slavery under Egypt were planned. If you read the Bible, God tells Moses that He had hardened the Pharoah's heart after he had agreed to free the Hebrews, ie God brainwashed the Pharoah. It was his plot to use Egypt to force and coerce the Hebrews into submission.
And so, was it also God's plans for the atrocities committed during the World Wars, and the oppression by tyrannical governments?

THE DIFFERENT FACES OF GOD
When God was with Adam & Eve, He was like a father.
He walked and talked with Adam & Eve in a casual manner on a daily basis.
When God was with Abraham, Moses and the other priests and prophets, he was like a tyrant.
He cannot be seen, and has to be shielded from view. And he ruled by fear and with an iron fist.
One thing to note that Jesus himself never mention that his God is the Abrahamic "God".
The Father that Jesus described is very different from the Abrahamic "God".
In fact, when Jesus scolded the Jewish priests, he mentioned that their god is actually Satan.
GOD, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER?
When we read the newspapers or watch the news on TV, we are shocked and appalled when we hear of abominable acts committed,
such as fathers drowning their children, burning their children, or locking their children in the cellar and torturing them everyday.
We find that these acts are brutal, inhuman, and repulsive.

There is no way that being moral, ethical, loving humans can we accept these acts and consider the perpetrators to be loving, merciful and kind fathers.
However, this is exactly the kind of 'Father' that God is.
Would a good and loving father drown (Noah's time) or burn his children (Sodom & Gomorrah) just for some acts of disobedience?
Would a good and loving father lock their children and torture them endlessly(Hell)?
If God really is eternal, our entire lifetime, or even generations, would be less than a fraction of a second to Him.
Would a sin lasting less than a fraction of a second justify eternal punishment in Hell?

And why did he even create Hell in the first place?

THE MORAL & RIGHTEOUS GOD?
God plays favouritism. His Chosen People can blatantly disobey God as many times as they like and still be forgiven. Others simply get destroyed.
Is it fair & just for a God to absolve a hardcore criminal of all sins just because he believed in him?
Is it fair to sentence a good man to ETERNITY in hell for some petty sins committed over a few years in his life, just because he did not believe in God ?
Why would an omnipotent and omniscient God allow sin to exist in the world?
Why would a compassionate God create Hell to torture his creations for eternity due to a few decades of sin?
In that case, why does God create infants who die in the womb, those that die a premature death, children born with mental/physical disability?
Why doesn't God give everyone an opportunity to 'love' and serve him ?
Also, is it fair that He only appeared to people of Israel? What about the people in other countries of the world? Are they not His children as well?

GOD IS LOVE?
The claim that God is love is basically a blatant lie. The problem is that people do not read the Bible themselves. Note the following points:
-
God shows favours one race for no apparent reason but claims to be the God of the world. (Racism)
-
God shows favouritism to the firstborn males. God treats females as second-class, especially in the Old Testament.(Sexism)
-
God destroys those who oppose or do not believe in him. Eg. Sodom & Gomorrah. (Genocide)
-
God kills the innocent to show his power. Eg. The firstborns of Egypt. (Infanticide)
-
God loves blood sacrifices. (Ritual sacrifices of sheep, and occasionally humans)
-
He does not value the lives of the living beings that He had created. Eg. The Great Flood and the plague in Egypt. (Cruelty to animals)
-
God loves watching people being stoned to death for petty crimes. (Sadism)
-
God mass-murders His own children and innocent pants and animals (The Great Flood)
-
God has plans to confine and torture His own children for eternity (The end of the world)
-
God love wars. However, he lets the angels & humans do the dirty job for him when he can simply make the enemies drop dead.
-
If he wants them dead, why doesn't He do it Himself? Why not give them a swift and painless death ? (War-mongering)
-
God curses humans and send them plagues to make them suffer. Then He offers Himself as a solution for their suffering.
In many ways, God resemble the human governments:
-
Demands absolute loyalty.
-
Using war & violence to expand area of influence.
-
Favours one ethnicity over others.
-
Makes empty promises.
-
Uses "Bad Cop-Good Cop" tactic.
-
Creates evil to make His existence appear to be a 'necessity'.
How can you worship a God that allows and commit crimes that are even loathsome to us humans, supposedly to be inferior beings?

IS THIS THE TYPE OF GOD THAT YOU WANT TO WORSHIP?
The mass murders committed by and directed by Yahweh fills much of the Old Testament. The exerpts below are only a small sample.

GOD ORDERING MURDER, RAPE & LOOTING
Exodus 23:27
"I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee."
Exodus 32:27-28
And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
Leviticus 26:7-8
And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Numbers 1:51
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Numbers 3:10
And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest's office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Numbers 11:1
And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
Numbers 25:16
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 25:17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
Numbers 31:7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
31:8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
31:9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks,
and all their goods.
31:10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
31:11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.
Deuteronomy 2:20
(That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
2:21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:
2:22 As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them,
and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:
2:23 And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)
2:30 But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.
2:31 And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.
2:32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz.
2:33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
2:34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
2:35 Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.
2:36 From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead,
there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:
2:37 Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains,
nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.
Numbers 31
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Exodus 3
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.
22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
Leviticus 14
34 When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;
Numbers 31
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.
3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites,
and avenge the LORD of Midian.
4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments,
and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks,
and all their goods.
10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.

WHAT ARE HUMANS TO GOD?
Does God really love Mankind? What are humans to God?
From what mentioned in the Bible, Man was created to be the caretaker of the Earth. It was with the purpose to serve God.
Therefore, we are just servants created with a mission. It was not out of love. How can you love something that has not existed yet?
Take a look at the people & animals of Egypt, as well as the children of Job. God kills humans just to prove His power or to win a debate.
He does not value life at all.
Thus, it is reasonable to say that God loves Himself, therefore He created Man.
To God, humans are just like the various components in a computer. Defective? Replace. Incompatible? Delete. Corrupted? Format.
God did it once During Noah's time, and He will do it again, only that the next time He will be using fire instead of water.
Humans are dispensable 'tools' to God. The Bible tells us so. This mentality is shown by His commands regarding slavery.

GOD & SLAVERY
In many parts of the Bible, the ancient Israelites took slaves for themselves, despite being slaves themselves while they were still in Egypt.
Slavery is a practice that is abhorred even by humans.
However, God did not reprimand them. In fact, He encouraged and ordered them to take slaves.
God even gave instructions on how to punish and trade slaves.
Why does God support slavery? The reason is simple. The relationship between God and the 'people of the Book' is the 'Master & Slave' relationship.
That is NOT love.
1 Peter 2:18
“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.”

Is such a God worthy of your worship? Why does God condone slavery? Simple: He is the biggest slave master.
GOD'S MIRACLES?
In the Bible, there are several accounts of God showing His power through the display of miracles.
However, there is no way that we can be sure that God exists.
If a person thinks that God exists because miracles exist, then it is like believing that Superman exists because New York exists.
The person is believing in the miracle, and not God.
PRAYERS TO GOD
Christianity often teaches that 'God always listens to your prayers. It's only a matter of time when he will respond to them'.
When your prayers are 'answered', be it by coincidence or circumstances, believers will claim that it's God's will.
When nothing happens, they claim that it is not time yet, or God has better plans for them.
Therefore, the prophecies may never happen, prayers not answered, but even upon their death, people still believe in them anyway.
In such a way, be it God's prophecies or prayers to God, they are just empty promises, and no matter what happens .... God always 'wins'.

EVANGELISM
God uses rewards of eternal life in heaven, or worldly blessings to attract followers.
If blessings do not work, then the fear of eternal damnation in hell will be used.
Victims will then be 'brainwashed', or pressurized into converting by guilt of 'original sin', or by the fear of God.
When there is fear, that is not love.
I believe that when religions are born in turmoil, politics is a strong factor of influence
(eg. Judaism, Catholicism, Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism, Japanese Buddhism ... etc).
These religions are territorial, and their motive is to unite the people together.
However, there are a few religions that are without boundaries, and teaches mankind as a whole (eg. Bahaism, Jainism, Buddhism)
It is humans who make use of religions to brainwash the unthinking, simple folks into believing them,
and thus sometimes cheating them of their hard-earned savings.
Greed & lust for power are usually the corrupting factors ....
Some people may claim that it is the followers who corrupt the religion, and that their religion is not in the wrong.
However, I disagree. Let me quote 2 examples :
Example 1 :
Buddhism teaches AHIMSA (non-violence), yet the Shaolin monks of China and the Mountain Monks of Japan took part in wars in their respective country.
This is wrong on the part of the followers.
Example 2 :
In the Bible, God instructed his people to wage war and destroy those who do not believe in Him, wiping out several civilizations.
This is wrong on the part of the religion.
If God thinks that the civilizations have sinned against Him, then why don't he just cut short their lifespan Himself ?
It would be much easier, and there would have been zero casualties on His side. Why get His people to commit murder in the name of religion ?
Truly, we are here to discuss, not to condemn other religions.
Christianity/Catholicism is the largest religion in the world, but if we look closely, we find that the religion itself consists of many minor sects
(eg. Gnostics, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses ... etc).
They do not agree with each other in most of their beliefs, therefore we cannot consider them as one religion.
So, why is it that they can spread their religion so quickly ? Over the centuries, wars have been waged, battles have been fought,
and religion spread by way of force, by the sword, and the spilling of blood.
Those who believe are spared, and those who do not convert or are contradicting their beliefs are treated as cults, or as warlocks/witches.
And they were tortured and killed.
Consider the Inquisition, the Crusades, the witch-hunts and the development of the modern-day Bible
(Research : Emperor Constantine, Athanasian Creed, Nicean Creed).
The modern-day method would be by economic conquest : colonization.
It is the tyrannic mentality of "those who are with me, are my people. Those who are not, are my enemies". A God symbolizing love, compassion, righteousness and justice should not possess such mentality.
'Love' of God is just a delusion to trick people into obeying God. Psychological slavery is more like it.

FAMOUS QUOTES:

Greek philosopher, Epicurus (341-270 BCE)
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
British philosopher, David Hume (1711-1776)
If the evil in the world is from the intention of God, then he is not benevolent.
If the evil in the world is contrary to his intention, then he is not omnipotent.
But it is either in accordance with his intention or contrary to it.
Therefore, either God is not benevolent or he is not omnipotent.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE REASONS WHY PEOPLE BELIEVE IN CHRISTIANITY?
Gulit-tripping: The term 'original sin' comes into being, using psychological warfare to brainwash humans that since they are sinners,
it is only right that they redeem the sins of their ancestors and be faithful to God. Making use of the feeling of guilt in them, God then demands that humans have absolute faith in Him.

Tyranny: In the Old Testament, God used the 'hard' method to get humans to obey Him, often demanding absolute obedience to Him, if not, they will be harshly punished as a collective, or even executed by your own people.
Brainwashing: After centuries of failure, God had to resort to 'soft' method, sending His Son to earth, telling humans that God loves them. But one thing for sure: It is the easiest way out. You are saved 'just be believing'. You can sin, but can always be forgiven. Minimal effort, 100% guaranteed salvation. What a great way to be relieved of all responsibility! But just imagine: You, living in a heaven filled with nasty people and criminals who believed in God. For eternity, who so happens to "believe" in "God" as well.
Bribery: Other reasons would be material gains. It is quite common to see that many successful people in the world believe in God.
Others would then assume that their success is due to the blessings of God.
If you study the Bible carefully, God frequently promises his believers that :
- they would be fruitful (family & companionship)
- prosperity (wealth)
- known to all nations (fame)
- rulers of nations (power)
