WORLDLY PASSIONS

Worldly passions are merely an illusion,
Our feelings, our emotions, and the bondage known as 'love'.

In the heat of anger or jealousy,
Thousands of 'I love you' become empty words.
Memories of flaws flow spontaneously into mind,
Whereas incidents of good-will are often forgotten.

Annoyance and irritation are but manifestations of our discontentment.
Death may come at any moment,
In a breath, in a blink of the eye.
Why be bothered by such insignificant issues?

Craving, attachment and delusion bind us in misery.

Let us make it a part of our lives, wishing:
May all sentient beings be well & happy,
And also to be free from suffering.

And in the practice of the Dhamma,
May we stay focused, mindful,
And always be at peace.
